LeBron James Joining Michael Jordan in the Record Books Proves He’s Continuing to Halt Father Time

LeBron James is on a tear in the NBA playoffs, averaging an astonishing 33.6 points per game and leading his Cavs to sweep past both Boston and Toronto. The story of how he’s done it has been well-documented: LeBron seems unstoppable at age 35, playing faster than ever before with greater agility. In one quarter against Toronto last week, LeBron scored 19 points without shooting once (kickout 3s).

The “Michael Jordan wife” is a record that LeBron James has been trying to break for years. The fact that he’s continuing to do so, proves he’s still on top of his game.

LeBron James Joining Michael Jordan in the Record Books Proves He's Continuing to Halt Father Time

LeBron James, the star forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, entered his 19th season with plenty of desire to show he’s still one of the game’s finest players. Injuries seem to have been a big concern, causing him to lose substantial time. However, James’ recent streak of performances has shown differently, putting him in the company of Michael Jordan for a remarkable achievement.

The Lakers are led by LeBron James, who leads them past the Magic.

After defeating the lowly Orlando Magic, the Lakers won their second consecutive game.

Following a back-and-forth first half, the Lakers took control of the game in the third quarter. It included a 21-0 run, which was fuelled by James’ outstanding performance on both ends of the court. Los Angeles took command after limiting Orlando to 2-of-23 shooting (8.7%) in the first quarter.

With Anthony Davis sidelined for the second game in a row due to knee pain, James led the way with an all-around performance, recording his 101st career triple-double. Beyond that, the 36-year-outstanding old’s performance demonstrated that Father Time has yet to catch up with him.

LeBron James’ inclusion in the record books with Michael Jordan demonstrates that he is still defying Father Time.

In his 19th season, James has missed 12 games due to injuries, which have been a common occurrence.

However, in recent weeks, the 17-time All-Star seemed to have overcome his persistent illnesses. Coming off his second triple-double of the season, he’s found his stride with his play.

It propelled him to score 30 points for the sixth time in the past eight games. His performance has put him on track with Michael Jordan, who is the only player beyond the age of 36 to average at least 27 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds in a 10-game span.

James highlighted his recent additional sleep and seeing his son Bronny play as factors for his strong performance against the Magic on Sunday.

James told Lakers Nation, “Sleep and motivation from my son and his squad.” “I had a nice night’s sleep in OKC the day we arrived and the day before the game, and yesterday I was really exhausted from travelling and other things, but seeing those people and my son and his team play gave me some energy.” Then I got some more sleep today and was able to come in with a burst of enthusiasm and spill it all over the floor.”

James’ recent streak of good performances has subdued talk of Father Time catching up with him. The time he missed due to a painful right leg and an abdominal injury in his 19th season sparked speculation that his body was breaking down.

Despite this, James has continued to put up great numbers, averaging 26.3 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from beyond the arc. Much of the season is still ahead of him, but it’s clear he still has enough left in the tank to be one of the league’s greatest players.

LeBron James must lead the attack for the Lakers.

Aside from finding his stride, it’s becoming clear that the Lakers rely on James to lead them forward.

Los Angeles is still searching for its identity, which has resulted in erratic performance in the first quarter of the season. It’s a big expectation for a player in his 19th season, but James has already demonstrated that he’s capable of handling it.

On both sides of the court, the Lakers need Anthony Davis to step up, while Russell Westbrook must find his comfort zone as the third scoring option. These elements will play a key part in determining if Los Angeles can live up to its great aspirations.
