The F7 Claw is made comprised of two grips that use suction cups to attach to the rear of your tablet, while a pair of rubber nibbed “claws” clamp onto its face. It does not have a Bluetooth connection. Instead, the handles must be aligned such that the claw’s physical nibs hit buttons on the touch screen. The handles themselves are ergonomic and all-black. They feel good in the hands and have a great, gripping texture, which makes holding a tablet more comfortable. Each one has a power switch, USB Type-C charging connector, two triggers, and a turbo button that regulates the L1 and R1 buttons’ “burst frequency.” It’s worth mentioning that they each need to be charged individually, and GameSir only provides one charging cord. The buttons have a lot of click to them. Some users may like the sound, while others may find it irritating. Unfortunately, the good news comes to an end there.

Despite GameSir’s claim that the grips are compatible with any Android or Apple tablet, we tried the F7 on an iPad and a Fire tablet, and the grips didn’t function well with either. Because the iPad was too hefty, the suction cups slipped and the tablet wobbled and slid. Although the smaller Fire tablet felt more secure, the claws covered a large part of the screen.

Is it Suitable for Gaming?

The F7’s applications are very restricted. It seems to be mainly intended for games like Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG: Mobile, in which the nibs may align with buttons on the screen’s sides. Even yet, depending on how the claws align with the buttons, players may have varied experiences. When the suction cups slide, this may lead to even more problems.

Suction cup slippage is not only annoying, but it also puts your device at danger of being dropped and damaged. It doesn’t function as well as it promises with all tablets, and the amount of games it supports as intended is limited.

Is the F7 Claw a Good Investment?

Tablet controllers have a considerably smaller market than smartphone controllers, especially trigger-only versions like the F7’s, which free up your thumbs for screen-based control. Despite this, based on our testing, the F7 is tough to recommend. Particularly when comparable goods seem to be available for less than half the cost.

Overall, users may benefit from using a Bluetooth controller, such as one offered by ipega.

Summary

The GameSir F7 Claw may be helpful for some tablets and games, but it is awkward and unpleasant to use in general. When you add in a hefty price tag, it’s tough to suggest.

  • Tablets have an ergonomic design that makes them easy to handle.
  • They include textured handles that make them comfortable to grasp.
  • Additional functionality is provided via the turbo buttons.
  • Suction cups don’t keep a particularly strong grip on the surface.
  • Claw has the potential to block a large part of tiny displays.
  • Only a small number of games are compatible.
