The NFL Week 6 slate features the Eagles at home against the Cowboys, making for a high-scoring game with plenty of star power. With Dez Bryant and Odell Beckham Jr. in the same division, it will be interesting to see how these two teams clash without Ezekiel Elliott on either side.

When wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became available for trade in 2018, he was towards the top of the Los Angeles Rams’ want list of players. Beckham had evolved into a player the Rams needed by the time they eventually acquired him on Thursday.
The Rams needed aid for their banged-up receiving corps, and they wanted to keep acquiring talent in their obsessive drive to win Super Bowl LVI at their home stadium on February 13, 2022.

It was all about finding a receiver who could aid a severely weak receiving corps that had been hammered by injury and DeSean Jackson’s early departure.
The only healthy wideouts on the roster right now are starters Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, as well as third-stringer Van Jefferson. The Rams fired Jackson in recent weeks after he became dissatisfied with his reduced position, while youngsters Tutu Atwell and Jacob Harris suffered season-ending injuries. A waiver claim to re-sign released wide receiver Josh Reynolds was denied earlier this week.

Ben Skowronek and J.J. Koski, a pair of first-year wideouts who had a combined three receptions for 30 yards, were the only depth behind Kupp, Woods, and Jefferson as of Thursday morning.
Beckham happened to be the finest wideout option available for the Rams, who were desperate for a Super Bowl win. Add in the fact that Beckham will still be paid by the Cleveland Browns, which means a one-year agreement with him could easily fall under the salary limit, and an appealing location like Los Angeles, where Beckham spends a lot of time during the summer, and the match makes sense for both sides.
Although moving to Los Angeles, where Kupp and Woods are already well-established, may appear to go against Beckham’s ambition to reclaim his No. 1 wideout status, there should still be plenty of possibilities for him to reclaim his worth.
The Rams have three or more receivers on the field 86 percent of the time this season, which is more than any other team in the league. As if that weren’t enough, the Rams also go empty on 19 percent of those plays, the most in the NFL, with five pass-catchers and no running backs on the field.
Beckham’s place in the team is unclear. Ideally, in a modified version of the role that the Rams had in mind for Jackson. Despite the fact that Beckham’s overall productivity has declined in recent years, he still has the potential to go deep. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, his average depth of target this season was 13.79 yards, whereas Jefferson (12.91) is the only Rams player with an average depth of target over 9.0 yards.
Given that quarterback Matthew Stafford leads the NFL with ten touchdown throws on vertical routes, Beckham should have plenty of opportunities to not only go far but also play a key part in helping the Rams make a playoff run.
